On 4th November 2020, MPs voted to ensure they get a final say on trade deals and how they could impact the food we all eat. The Agriculture Bill with this crucial amendment has passed through the House of Commons and will become law. For the past few months MPs have been hearing loud and clear that safeguarding our high food standards really matters.
Back British Farming have been joined by high profile figures such as Jamie Oliver, Prue Leith, Joe Wicks and Jimmy Doherty to make the case to strengthen the Trade and Agriculture Commission and enable MPs to scrutinise trade deals to ensure that British food and farming standards are not undermined. Thanks to their supporters, MPs have listened.
Every trade deal will be scrutinised and we’ll be watching to ensure our MPs understand the impact it will have on the food on our plates. With your support, the campaign continues.
